Blankos Block Party - Unofficial Trailer

My third attempt at a video game trailer, this time with something yet to be released. This video was made in less than 7 days.

Blankos is a free title from Mythical Games. Utilizing the Unity Engine, Blankos looks to be the first AAA blockbuster title running on blockchain technology. It is a mix of social experiences, gameplay, and fan-made level creation. Similar to Garry’s Mod, Little Big Planet, or Halo’s Forge mode, Blankos allows its users to determine what type of experience is best.

Without all the bells and whistles of a final release, this project had its own set of technical challenges. Some user-created maps would cause performance dips and certain mechanics weren’t yet fully functional. I had to tackle the technical side of things before I could get creative. The light-hearted Kirby music I chose, along with a few fun transitions, allowed me to flow between pockets of gameplay with ease. This was particularly important while keeping track of every single little piece of gameplay.

The open-ended nature of the game’s design meant that all sorts of mechanics, running, jumping, shooting, and collecting, all had to be showcased in less than 45 seconds.
